I have a 2005 Honda CR-V with 70K miles, can you tell me is there a timing belt or timing chain? And if it has a chain does it still require changing. Thank you

Gordon, You have a timing chain, and should not have to be replaced unless you have excessive slack on its slapping the timing cover because the tensioner has failed. This is very uncommon though as they should last the life of the vehicle.

Greetings Gordon,Your 2005 Honda CR-V has a timing chain. It does NOT need changing unless a problem develops, and the good news is the CR-V"s timing chain rarely develops any problems.

GordonYour CR-V has a timing chain, which is virtually maintenance free. If, over time, it stretches, you will get a "check engine" light on your dash, which will give the mechanic the appropriate code. At your mileage, you have quite a while before there might be any concern.
